The Musica Leopolis label has been founded by Pavlo Hunka, the renowned British bass-baritone singer, with a view to recording and promoting the classical treasures of Ukrainian Art Song. The label plans to record over 300 dramatic songs, many of which are masterpieces, of composers such as Mykola Lysenko, Kyrylo Stetsenko, Jakiv Stepovij, Borys Lyatoshynskiy and Yulij Meytus.

Musica Leopolis has been developed under the auspices of the Canadian Ukrainian Opera Association, a registered charity, whose objectives are to promote Ukrainian classical music in all forms including live performances and recordings. The CUOA has a long and distinguished history in staging and promoting Ukrainian classical music and operas.
